Privacy notice

SurveyScribe is made by Nexus Versa Ltd, Silverstream House, 45 Fitzroy Street, London W1T 6EB. This notice explains what the app does with information, and what we collect. The short version: your survey data stays on your device, and we collect almost nothing.
What stays on your device
Sites, records, photographs, voice notes, transcripts, tags, notes, plans, your company details, logo and colour, and your subscription status are stored on your device only. We cannot see them. They leave the device only when you choose to share a report, a site file or a setup file, and then they go to whoever you send them to by whatever means you choose.
Camera, microphone, photos and speech
- Camera and photo library: used to take and add photographs to records. Originals you take with the camera can be saved to your own photo library in an album named after your company; you can turn this off in Settings.
- Microphone: used to record voice notes. Audio is stored on the device.
- Speech recognition: voice notes are transcribed using the speech recognition built into your device (Apple Speech on iPhone and Mac). Where the device supports it, recognition runs on the device and audio is not sent anywhere. On devices without on-device recognition, Apple's speech service may process the audio under Apple's privacy terms. You can turn automatic transcription off in Settings.
Each permission is asked for when first needed and can be withdrawn in your device settings.
What we collect
We do not run accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking in the app, and the app does not send us your data. Purchases of SurveyScribe Pro are made through Apple's App Store or Google Play; the store processes your payment and tells the app whether a subscription is active. We receive from the store only the aggregate sales and subscription information the store provides to developers, which does not identify you to us. Apple's and Google's privacy policies apply to the purchase.
If you email us, we keep the email and use it to reply. If you suggest a tag or an element for an expansion pack, we keep the suggestion. We do not share either with anyone else.
Children
The app is for professional use and is not directed at children.
Your rights
Because we hold almost no personal data about you, there is usually nothing for us to provide, correct or delete, but you may ask. Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct and erase personal data we hold, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Data in the app is under your control: delete a site in the app, or delete the app, and it is gone from the device.
Changes
If we add a feature that sends data off the device, for example client sharing, we will update this notice first and the app will ask before anything is sent.
